Understanding the relationships between recovery modality usage and subjective/objective metrics of recovery and performance in professional soccer athletes

Project Summary

Aim 1: Provide expertise in cutting-edge and proven effective recovery modalities for all US Men’s National Team athletes during the 2022 World Cup. Aim 2: Conduct research is to address the critical gap in the literature by comprehensively evaluating the effectiveness of different recovery modalities in elite athletes and specifically translate this to the context of the highest level of soccer. By conducting a systematic exploration of a wide array of interventions and employing a multidimensional approach that considers physiological, psychological, and performance-related metrics, this study aims to provide a comprehensive framework for understanding different modalities’ effects on psychophysiological recovery that could potentially enhance athletes' ability to sustain peak performance throughout their microcycles, competitive seasons/competitions, and careers.
