Performance Innovation Teams (PITs) are created to focus on the rapid and agile implementation of performance science within various populations.
Performance Innovation Teams (PIT)
Created in early 2022, the Human Performance Collaborative and the Ohio State Department of Athletics created a one-of-a-kind Performance Innovation Team with a goal of establishing a leading sports science program. The PIT will:
- Enable Ohio State to stay on the cutting edge of human performance technology through the constant evaluation and development of new tools.
- Ensure our student-athletes have access to the absolute best available monitoring and recovery technologies. Provide athletes with real-time support, driving the mission of athlete health, safety, and performance.
- Evaluate technologies, employ advanced data analytics, spur new technology development, and most importantly, help to optimize health and performance of student-athletes at Ohio State.
- Act as an accelerator for sport performance research through the collaboration and leveraging of Department of Defense (DoD) funded research at the HPC. This would give our teams the ability to submit for larger research dollars, which provides direct benefit back to Athletics through use of advanced knowledge and tools that otherwise would be unavailable to an athletic department.
- Provide mentoring to both Undergraduate and Graduate students which will further their careers, and provide benefit back to Athletics through direct support, and HPC through research initiatives.
